TDAC FAQ: Thailand Digital Arrival Card questions answered

People also ask: TDAC questions by topic

Submitting

What is the TDAC and where do I submit it?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is the online form replacing the paper arrival card. Submit at https://tdac.immigration.go.th/. The official TDAC is free.

What information do I need?

Prepare passport details, flight number and arrival date, an address in Thailand, travel purpose, health declaration information and an email address.

Can I save the form and finish later?

No. Complete it in one go. The official FAQ says it takes about 3–5 minutes per person when your information is ready.

What if I do not have an email address?

Create one: email is how you receive the TDAC.

Do I need a TDAC if I arrive by land or sea?

Yes. TDAC has been mandatory for all non-Thai nationals entering by air, land or sea since 1 May 2025. See TDAC for land and sea arrivals.

See how to fill out the TDAC.

Timing

When should I submit my TDAC?

Submit within 3 days before arrival, including the arrival date; the official FAQ also describes this as up to 72 hours before entry. The TDAC is valid from submission until arrival and is for one entry only.

Do I need a new TDAC for each entry?

Yes. TDAC is for one-time use per entry. Submit a new TDAC every time you enter Thailand.

Does a TDAC extend my stay?

No. The TDAC is the arrival card and does not extend a visa or the stay stamped in a passport. To stay longer on a 30-day exemption, see how to extend a Thai visa exemption. Land-border visa-exempt entries are normally limited to 2 per calendar year; see border rules and overstay fines.

Will the system remind me to submit?

No. The official FAQ says no reminders or notifications are sent.

Read the detailed timing guide.

Updating

Which TDAC fields can I correct?

The official FAQ says Full Name, Passport Number, Nationality and Date of Birth cannot be edited. Use “Update Arrival Card” for other fields. If a field cannot be updated, submit a new TDAC; the most recent submission is valid.

I submitted more than one TDAC. Which one counts?

The most recent submission is valid. See TDAC errors and fixes.

Why is passport-number editing unclear?

Passport-number discrepancy: the official FAQ lists Passport Number as non-editable, while the 2025.05.00 release notes say passport-number editing was enabled. Follow the FAQ wording and submit a new TDAC if unsure.

What if my flight or hotel changes?

Update the card or submit a new one before entry.

Read the detailed updating guide.

Groups

How many travellers can a group submission include?

A submission can include up to 10 travellers. You may submit for family members, children or group travellers. Tour operators, tour leaders and authorised travel agencies may also submit.

Read the detailed groups guide.

Kiosks

What if I do not have a smartphone or internet?

Kiosks and Wi-Fi are provided on arrival. The FAQ lists Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Hat Yai airports. For kiosk submissions, the QR code is sent by email only; take a photo of the QR code from the kiosk.

Do I have to print the QR document?

Printing is not required: you can show the QR document on a phone. A printed copy is useful if you will not have a device.

Read the detailed kiosks guide.

Transit

Do I need TDAC if I stay in transit?

If you do not pass through immigration, no TDAC is required. If you leave the airport, a TDAC is required. Technical landings and transit flights do not need one; crew do not need one.

Read the detailed transit guide.

Children

Do babies and children need TDAC?

Yes. All non-Thai travellers, including infants and children, need a TDAC when entering Thailand. Parents can submit for them.

Read the detailed children guide.

Errors

How do I fix a 429 error?

For “Http failure response ... 429”, refresh the page and try again.

How do I fix a 0 Unknown Error?

For “Http failure response ... 0 Unknown Error”, check your internet connection.

What if the QR code does not arrive by email?

Contact the Immigration Officer at the entry checkpoint.

What if the official website is unavailable?

Keep a screenshot of the error and contact airport or immigration staff.

What should I do if the TDAC website is not working?

For a 429 error, refresh and try again. For “0 Unknown Error”, check your internet connection. If the website is unavailable, keep a screenshot of the error and contact airport or immigration staff, as the official FAQ advises. See TDAC errors and fixes.

I made a mistake on my TDAC — what now?

Use “Update Arrival Card” for editable fields. If a field cannot be updated, submit a new TDAC; the latest submission is valid. The official FAQ and release notes disagree on passport-number editing, so submit a new form if unsure. Read the TDAC correction rules and passport-number notice.

Read the detailed errors guide.

Optional help with the form

The official TDAC is free, and you can complete it yourself at tdac.immigration.go.th. If you travel to Thailand often, the /tdac/ service is an optional, independent paid helper (€5 one-time) that saves your details so you don’t retype them every trip; most one-time visitors don’t need it. For that service, read tips to fill the TDAC faster and TDAC Auto-Fill help.
