Check your Thailand entry options

Search, then choose from the list. For an unlisted nationality, select “Other / not listed”.

Your entry options

A clearer plan starts here.

Select your nationality, purpose and trip length to see the relevant entry options, stay limits and conditions.

This is a planning guide, not an eligibility decision.

How to use your result

Start with the nationality shown on the passport you intend to use, then choose the purpose that matches the trip and enter the planned number of days. Read the conditions as well as the headline stay length. A nationality can appear in the table while still having a route-specific condition: Myanmar’s 14-day bilateral exemption applies at international airports only.

If the result says that a bilateral stay is not fully verified, do not substitute the 30-day exemption allowance. The guide deliberately leaves the exact stay length unverified for China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Laos, Macao, Mongolia, Russia, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Confirm that arrangement with the embassy before making a stay-length decision.

Use the result as a route into the detailed guides. The nationality list explains schemes, the visa guide sets out purpose-specific options, and the entry checklist covers documents, funds and arrival-card preparation. For arrival-card preparation, see how to fill out the TDAC; completing the card does not establish visa eligibility or a permitted stay.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Thailand entry checker guarantee that I can enter?

No. The checker is a planning guide, not an eligibility decision. It uses nationality, purpose and stay length to suggest options and conditions to verify with a Thai embassy before travel.

What should I select if my nationality is not listed?

Select “Other / not listed”. The guide directs nationalities outside the listed schemes to the visa-required route. Check the official Thai e-Visa service and confirm your application requirements with the embassy.

Can I use a tourism exemption for remote work?

Exemptions are for tourism purposes only. For remote work, review the DTV workcation category and confirm eligibility with the embassy. A suggested visa category is not confirmation that you meet its requirements.

What if my planned stay exceeds the exemption allowance?

Review a suitable visa category and confirm eligibility before travel. An exemption extension is at the immigration officer’s discretion and must be requested before the permitted stay ends. The checker does not promise an extension.

Read the stay, extension and conditions together

The stay shown in a result belongs to the selected entry scheme. An extension is a separate possibility, not time already granted. For the 30-day tourism exemption, Washington’s embassy confirms an extension of up to 30 days at the immigration officer’s discretion. The Immigration Bureau lists an in-person TM.7 application and a 1,900 THB fee. The checker keeps the 15-day scheme’s extension unverified: confirm at immigration.

If you need a longer or different-purpose stay, start with the full visa-by-country guide. Remote workers and eligible soft-power visitors can review DTV categories and supporting documents. A category appearing in the result does not establish that you qualify for it. Check the embassy’s application requirements for your circumstances.

Budget for the entry conditions as well as the duration: the proof-of-funds guide distinguishes exemption figures from Visa on Arrival. If you cross a border by road or boat, review the land and sea entry conditions because a nationality-based result alone cannot describe your whole route.

What the checker does not decide

This tool does not approve entry, determine an airline’s document decision or resolve an unverified bilateral stay length. For a connection, use the transit TDAC guide to check whether you pass through immigration. For a family trip, read the child and minor entry guidance for each traveller’s preparation. The TDAC FAQ explains arrival-card questions separately from visa eligibility.
